This elegant postcard features the Sheridan Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The reverse of this linen card says, “MWM Aurora, MO”, MWM standing for the Midwest Map Co.
This linen postcard probably dates from the ’40s, and shows “the narrows”, a channel on Lake Minnetonka that connects Lafayette Bay and Old Channel Bay. (Lake Minnetonka is near Minneapolis, Minnesota)
Some postcards with architectural subjects would present the structure in an abstract landscape, with none of the adjacent buildings present. That’s what we have with this card from the Hotel St. Paul. Mailed in 1958, the postcard was printed by Curt Teich.
