Old Plantation Cafe

Old Plantation CafeThis attractive postcard shows the Old Plantation Cafe in Fort Worth, Texas. I’ve been unable to find anything about the cafe, and have no memory of it from my childhood in Fort Worth. The cars indicate that this scene dates from the late ’40s, and I suspect the cafe was gone by 1960 if not earlier. This spot is now the location of a Citizens National Bank. On the back:

  1. I remember an Old Plantation drive-in, with carhops, from the early 50’s. It was on Magnolia, a couple of blocks east of Hemphill.

Hmm… it makes you wonder if they relocated. Or maybe there was more than one location? I’ll check with a couple of local historians and see if they can add anything. Thanks Dan!
