The Golden Nugget

Golden Nugget postcardThe Golden Nugget was built in 1946, and soon became one of the premier ‘Vegas casinos. The image on this postcard, based on the cars, probably dates from around 1956. The back reads:

The Million Dollar
GOLDEN NUGGET GAMBLING HALL
SALOON AND RESTAURANT, LAS VEGAS
“Where Fortune Smiles”
Brightly lighted marquee truly turns night into day.
The Famous GOLDEN NUGGET sign is synonymous
with Las Vegas. Thousands of visitors pass
through these portals daily where fun, excitement

  1. It looks as though they darkened out the casino next door to the right. 1956 is also my guess, the year they built the marquee running along both sides of the casino.
